Highland Park is known for being the most Northern Scotch Whisky Distillery in the world. It is situated on the outskirts of the biggest town in Orkney 58.9847°N. It is so far North it is almost in the Arctic circle. To give you an idea, it is on the same latitude as Anchorage, Alaska. The distillery has been distilling in the same site since 1798 where the founder, Magnus Eunson’s, original illicit still was at High Park.

Bottled at 64.1% ABV, Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 3 is described as having aromas of “smouldering peat, lightly charred oak, honey-glazed lemons, and crushed aniseed,” followed by notes of “ripe mango, cloudy heather honey, and whipped vanilla cream with a hint of aromatic violet” on the palate.
