The government is seeking to bank on the Lambretta brand as it seeks to embark on a strategic sale of assets of the loss-making PSU, Scooters India Ltd. According to reports, the government is keen to ensure that the Lambretta brand stays with Scooters India to maximise valuation of the loss-making automaker Scooters India. The Heavy Industries Ministry is planning to put up the company for strategic sale, which includes sale of government shareholding along with transfer of management control.
